There&#8217;s no need to turn to Astri\u00e9 mills &#8211; they won&#8217;t be able to meet your needs because they&#8217;ll clog up on the first try and won&#8217;t be able to satisfy you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-fdccc\"><strong>You want to crush dry cereals (12-15% moisture content):<\/strong> soft wheat, durum wheat, spelt, small spelt, durum wheat, barley, buckwheat, maize, rye, chestnuts, chickpeas, buckwheat\u2026 here you can opt for a cylinder mill, a stone mill or an Astri\u00e9-type flour mill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-174ma\">Step 2: How much flour do you need and how often?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-9o70u\">It&#8217;s all in the title! It&#8217;s all about knowing not only how many kilos or tonnes of flour you&#8217;ll need, but how often. It&#8217;s different to need 20 kilos of flour every day or 6 tonnes of flour just once a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-6mm8q\">Take the time to ask yourself! You can opt for :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a small mill equipped with several Astri\u00e9 mills working together or separately<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a larger stone mill<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>call on the services of a cylinder miller.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-61le\">Step 3: What type(s) (ash content) of flour do you want to sell or process?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-85a1u\">The important thing now is to ask yourself \u2018who is going to use this flour? Are you going to process this flour directly on site (bread, pasta, biscuits)? Are you going to sell the flour? Will you do a bit of both?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s important to know that the ash content is a standard that was established for cylinder mills. It remains a standard used in milling because it provides a reference. However, when milling with stone millstones (traditional or Astri\u00e9), it&#8217;s vital to take a step back, because the milling process is different and the quality of your flour will certainly enable you to obtain a much higher quality flour with the same or equivalent ash content. That&#8217;s why we say \u2018equivalent\u2019 and not identical ash content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t already done so, we advise you to read the article \u2018What is the ash content?\u2019, written recently on this subject!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-1olns\">You want to make flour:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>equivalent to T65 ash content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>equivalent to an ash content of T80<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ash equivalent T110<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ash equivalent T130<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ash equivalent T150<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-5upkm\">you can then choose an Astri\u00e9 mill<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-adr0j\">I want to make several types of flour:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-5nbf9\">The advantage of an Astri\u00e9 mill in this case is that you can buy a single mill and make several different types of flour at the same time.
